Maddelin Mckenna is a screenwriter and director from Naarm/Melbourne. Her 2022 short film, ‘Patterns of the Afternoon,’ premiered at the 70th Melbourne International Film Festival as part of the Accelerator program.

In 2018, Maddelin's short film ‘Skates’ won Best Short Film at the Emerge Film Festival, and she also received an Award of Merit for Women Filmmakers at the Accolade Global Film Competition. The film screened at festivals such as Vancouver International Film Festival, Hollyshorts, Manchester Film Festival, St Kilda Film Festival, Vasteras Film Festival, and Setting Sun Film Festival. Prior to this success, her 2017 short film ‘Nice Girls’ won the Best Youth Film award at the St Kilda Film Festival.

Beyond her narrative works, Maddelin has contributed her directorial and editing skills to numerous fashion films for local brands such as Sister Studios, SÜK Workwear and Hedwig Crombie Jewellery. In the commercial world, she has directed two campaigns for Virtus Health, which have screened across Australia and Singapore. In 2023, she directed a campaign for the anti-bullying organisation Dolly’s Dream.

Maddelin's passion for script development has also led to her work as Executive Assistant to renowned producers Tony Ayres and Andrea Denholm at Tony Ayres Productions, further expanding her knowledge and expertise of the entertainment business.
